About Me.
Hi! My name is Jack Hardiman, and I am a recent graduate of Stony Brook University with a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Atmospheric Science. My interests focus on the relationship between weather, climate, energy, commodities, and financial markets. Through my coursework and independent projects, I have explored how weather patterns and climate risk impact industries such as energy trading, insurance, and agriculture. I hope to pursue a career that combines atmospheric science, economics, and market analysis, particularly in commodities, risk management, or climate-focused finance. I have attended 3 American Meteorological Conferences, as well as E-World Essen, in Germany. Here, I have experienced this industry first hand and how it is evolving.

Outside of my academics, I am a big believer in a healthy body is a healthy mind! I love staying active, whether that is swimming, going to the gym, or taking my dog for a walk! Currently, I am training for the 2026 NYC Marathon, which has strengthened my discipline, consistency, and goal-oriented mindset.
I want to make this page a collection of op-eds, commentary, and analysis pieces focused on how weather is driving commodities, insurance, and energy, as well as the current standing of climate change. Through these articles, I hope to share my perspectives on how environmental and economic trends intersect and shape industries around the world. Enjoy!
